The Energy Saving Trust has recently been informed that there may have been some uncertainty amongst Assessor Organisations and Green Deal Advisors as to the status of the system for lodging Green Deal advice reports in Scotland.
For avoidance of doubt please be aware that the Scottish EPC Register, which is the database for storage of EPCs and Green Deal data in Scotland, is live and very much open for business. Anyone seeking to lodge EPCs or to complete a Green Deal assessment in Scotland needs to be registered with the EPC Register team in Scotland. They also need to use software approved for that purpose. This is a straightforward process to complete but you will need to have completed it prior to use of the register. We are aware there are many Green Deal Advisors registered with the GD ORB who will be able to operate in Scotland once they also register with the EPC Register team in Scotland. The following functionality is now live on the Scottish EPC Register:
- EPCs (Non Domestic and Domestic)
- Advisor Tool Runs (Non Domestic and Domestic)
- Green Deal Advice Report (Non Domestic GDAR’s and Domestic OA’s)
- Green Deal Plan Tool (Non Domestic and Domestic)
Alongside the development of the Register, the Scottish Government have committed to significant ongoing investment this year (£14m) from April onwards to support the early and rapid development of the Green Deal market in Scotland. The recent announcement regarding the Green Homes Cashback Scheme, which is being extended and now requires a Green Deal assessment within the eligibility criteria, is a reflection of this.
So, in order to respond to this significant market stimulus, on behalf of your organisation I would urge you to move as swiftly as possible to get the registration of your Advisors completed with our team in Scotland (we are aware of quite a lot of initial demand for Green Deal assessments in Scotland where the enquirer has been unable to find a Green Deal Advisor who is able to complete the process).
